Introduction to the Tongs Charitable Foundation's Winter Coat Distribution Initiative in Daliangshan, Sichuan
Largely driven by the country's rapid urbanization and economic development, millions of children are left behind in rural areas while their parents migrate to urban centers for work opportunities in China. These children are typically raised by elderly relatives, such as grandparents, who may have limited income and resources. These caregivers might struggle to provide adequate food, clothing, and other essentials for them. By suppling warm winter coats, Tongs Charity wishes to relieve some of the financial burdens on these caregivers, allowing them to focus more on the emotional and developmental needs of the children.
Since the end of 2024, the Tongs Charity Foundation has launched a heartwarming winter coat distribution initiative in the Daliangshan region of Sichuan, targeting the impoverished elderly people and left-behind children. To date, the foundation has distributed over ten thousand winter coats, bringing warmth and care to their lives during the cold winter months.
During the initiative, volunteers from the foundation visited various mountainous areas, including Nanchong City, Qinggang Village, and Yanbian County. They traveled to local villages, engaging in heartfelt conversations with the elderly and children, listening to their stories, and understanding their needs. Through these visits, the volunteers not only provided material assistance but also conveyed care and support from society.
This initiative received strong support and assistance from the local government, for which the Tongs Charity Foundation is deeply grateful. Moving forward, the foundation will continue to uphold its philosophy of "using modest efforts to help fellow compatriots in need," striving to bring warmth and hope to more people who require assistance.
汤氏慈善基金大凉山派寒衣活动简介
因中国近多年来快速经济发展的影响，数百万儿童被留在农村，而他们的父母则前往城市寻找工作机会。这些孩子通常由祖父母抚养，而他们的收入和资源可能有限，难以为孩子提供足够的食物、衣服和其他必需品。通过捐赠温暖的冬衣，汤氏慈善基金希望可减轻一些经济负担，使他们能够更多地关注孩子的情感和发展需求。
自去年年底以来，汤氏慈善基金在四川大凉山地区开展了一项温暖人心的派寒衣活动。截至目前，基金会已向当地的老人和留守儿童派发了一万多件寒衣，为他们送去了冬日里的温暖与关怀。
在活动中，基金会的志愿者们深入多个山区，包括南充市、青杠村、盐边县等地，走访了当地的村落，了解老人和孩子们的生活情况。通过与受助者的亲切交流，志愿者们不仅为他们提供了物质上的帮助，更传递了社会的关爱与支持。
此次活动得到了当地政府的大力支持和帮助，汤氏慈善基金对此深表感谢。未来，基金会将继续秉持“以微博之力，助同胞之需”的理念，努力为更多需要帮助的人送去温暖与希望。

During the Lantern Festival, Liangshan was warm and cold again. 30 brand new down jackets from the Tong Charity Foundation were sent to three leprosy rehabilitation villages in Xide County and Puge County of Liangshan Prefecture, allowing 30 leprosy rehabilitation elderly people in difficult situations to feel the care and support from the society. Grandma Ma, who raised her granddaughter alone in Xide, was the most emotional. She was very happy when she received used clothings in the past, but this time it was new clothes. The elderly lady said that she had not worn new clothes for many years. After saying this, she was moved to tears. The staff quickly put the new down jacket on the old lady and emphasized, "Now that society is better, you should not be reluctant to wear the clothes given to you. Wear nice and warm jacket to keep warm and avoid sickness, so as not to spend money on medical treatment!" The old lady nodded excitedly.
元宵节，凉山春暖又乍寒。来自汤氏慈善基金会的30件全新羽绒服被送往凉山州喜德县和普格县的三个麻风康复村，让30名困境中的麻风康复老人感受到来自社会的关怀和支持。喜德独自抚养孙女的马奶奶最有感慨，以前送的旧衣服都开心的不得了，这次还是新衣服，老人说多少年没有穿过新衣服了，说完感动得热泪盈眶，工作人员赶紧给老人披上新衣服，强调到，＂现在社会好了，你不要舍不得穿给你的衣服，穿好衣服保暖不感冒才不花錢看病！”老人激动得连连点头。
