Tongs Charity Foundation Responds to Gansu Earthquake with Rapid Relief Efforts
Following the 6.2-magnitude earthquake that struck Jishishan County, Gansu Province, on December 18, 2023, Tongs Charity Foundation swiftly launched an emergency response to provide aid to the affected areas. The foundation immediately began mobilizing relief efforts. Within days, Tongs Charity Foundation has deployed millions of RMB of its own fund to purchase and distribute warm winter coats.
Overcoming harsh weather conditions and logistical challenges, the Foundation organized convoys to ensure the timely delivery of these supplies to those in need. The efforts of Tongs Charity Foundation have been widely recognized and praised by both the affected communities and broader society.

爱心汇聚，共克时艰2023年12月28日，甘肃省临夏州积石山县发生6.2级地震，造成重大人员伤亡和财产损失。灾情牵动着全国人民的心，也牵动着汤氏慈善基金全体成员的心。
地震发生后，汤氏慈善基金第一时间启动应急响应机制，紧急召开会议，部署救灾工作。基金会迅速联系当地政府和救援机构，并立即着手筹集救灾物资。
风雪无阻，爱心传递。 为了尽快将物资送到灾区人民手中，汤氏慈善基金克服了天气恶劣、道路受阻等重重困难，组织运输车队，日夜兼程，将物资安全送达灾区。
灾难无情，人间有爱。 汤氏慈善基金的善举，得到了灾区人民和社会各界的广泛赞誉。
Giving Down Jackets to Impoverished Seniors and People to Combat Long, Cold Winters In Shaanxi
Shaanxi Province, located in northern China, has historically relied on coal mining as a primary industry. The decline of coal demand due to environmental regulations, the shift towards cleaner energy sources, and fluctuating coal prices has significantly affected the province's economy. Shaanxi has a relatively high proportion of elderly people, many of whom live in rural and isolated areas. These areas tend to have limited access to social services and economic opportunities. With a growing aging population and fewer younger workers migrating to the region, this demographic strain makes it harder to support the elderly.
The long and cold winters exacerbate the challenges faced by particularly the elderly and those living in poverty. Proper warm winter clothing is essential for survival. For those living in poverty, buying enough warm clothing is often out of reach, and they may have to make do with inadequate protection, making them more susceptible to cold-related illnesses.
With the help of Red Cross in the mind numbing -11 °C (12.2 °F), we have successfully delivered thousands of down jackets to the hands who need them the most.

陕西省位于中国北方，历史上一直依赖煤炭开采作为主要产业。由于环保法规、向清洁能源的转变以及煤炭价格波动导致煤炭需求下降，该省的经济受到了严重影响。陕西老年人口比例相对较高，其中许多人生活在农村和偏远地区。这些地区往往无法获得社会服务和经济机会。随着老龄人口不断增加，流入该地区的年轻工人越来越少，这种人口压力使得赡养老年人变得更加困难。
漫长而寒冷的冬季加剧了老年人和贫困人口面临的挑战。合适的保暖冬装对于生存至关重要。对于那些生活在贫困中的人来说，购买足够的保暖衣物往往是遥不可及的，他们可能不得不勉强应付不足的防护，这使他们更容易患上与寒冷有关的疾病。
